La tecnología es clave en la evolución de los medios de pago. De la necesidad de utilizar el efectivo en cualquier transacción, se pasa ahora a las sociedades cashless, en las que soluciones como los pagos desde el móvil y la biometría comienzan a ser habituales. En resumen, la entrada de nuevos competidores ha agitado un mercado que la banca dominaba por completo hasta hace poco.
El desembarco de los gigantes tecnológicos y las fintech en el mundo de los pagos ha supuesto una revolución para la concepción tradicional del negocio. «La tecnología ha abierto un escenario de colaboración: debemos trabajar junto con los actores existentes para generar valor.»
